About StoryTrax
StoryTrax.com is an online subscription service that allows our members to set up unique personal profiles. Guest members pay no fee and have limited access to the site’s functions.  StoryTrax members can communicate, share photos, post journals and comments, describe their interests, and tell stories. To enrich our members' experience, we request and display some personal information to other members and visitors, which allows our users to identify each other and expand their network of friends. StoryTrax members can change their profile information at any time.

What This Privacy Policy Covers

This policy covers how StoryTrax treats personal information that StoryTrax collects and receives. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable, like your name, address, email address, phone number, credit card numbers, and anything that is not otherwise publicly available.

This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that StoryTrax does not own or control or to people that StoryTrax does not employ or manage. Our privacy policy only governs information collected on StoryTrax.

Information Collection and Use

When you initially register we ask for your email address and a username. Once you register with StoryTrax any information you provide is determined by you when you edit your profile. That information includes your street address, city, state, postal code, and the country in which you reside.  This information is stored in a database and is needed to use advanced features on the website. For some financial products and services, we may also ask for your mailing address and credit card information. Once you register with StoryTrax and sign in to our services, you are not anonymous to us.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

StoryTrax does not sell or share personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies except to provide products or services that you have requested.

We provide the information to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with StoryTrax under confidentiality agreements. These companies may use your personal information to help StoryTrax communicate with you about offers from StoryTrax and our marketing partners. However, these companies do not have any independent right to share this information.

We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.  We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of StoryTrax terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.

 

We may be required to transfer information about you if StoryTrax is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, StoryTrax will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Personally identifiable information may be stored on your computer as cookies. Those cookies may be accessed by StoryTrax at anytime you are logged into the website.

StoryTrax users may modify or remove any of their personal information at any time by logging into their account and accessing “My account” and using the feature “Edit” to change information on the profile.

Confidentiality and Security

StoryTrax member accounts are secured by member-created passwords. StoryTrax takes precautions to insure that member account information is kept private. StoryTrax uses reasonable measures to protect member information that is stored within our database, and we restrict access to member information to those employees who need access to perform their job functions, such as our customer service personnel and technical staff. Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of member account information. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of member information at any time. Changes to this Privacy Policy

Occasionally StoryTrax may make changes to the privacy policy. If StoryTrax makes changes, those changes will be posted on the website to make users aware of what has been changed so users will always be aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and when we may disclose it. A User is bound by any changes to the policy when she or he uses the site after those changes have been posted.
