We have babies!
No- not more kids- but more rabbits!
My oldest daughter is now a rabbit breeder of dwarf hotot rabbits. After a busy summer of nuturing new rabbits into the rabbitry, and a busy month of watching out for an expectant doe, she has four adorable little rabbits. Okay to be honest, the little creatures were UGLY when they were first born. Bald little pink bodies- kinda of like our newborn babies!

We watched anxiously for about 3 days for them to arrive. Momma was not happy with our stares and constant checking of the nest box. She'd thump the bottom of the cage and grunt at us. (Sounds a bit like me when I was days away from delivery!) You could tell when the babies had come because she was much more relaxed.
The babies are now 2 weeks old and all looks good. The dwarf hotot rabbit is a hard rabbit to get a successful litter. Because of the dwarf gene, it's easy to end up with "peanuts"- little, little babies that die within 24 hours, max factors- babies that are blind and unable to walk, or spotted babies that are just not colored right. Well, not a single one of the first litter looks bad. We have 4 beautiful bundles of white fur now that look great!

They are already developing their different personalities. One is quite a dare devil- already taking a header out of the cage. Poor Michaela came out one morning to find a baby on the floor of the garage. He had jumped out of the nest box. Then, wiggled his way out of the wire of the cage. No parachute needed evidently- he's doing just fine after the 6 foot drop!
Michaela is supposed to pick which rabbits she is going to keep to continue to develop her line---- wonder how many cages I need to buy now! 4 you think?

Congratulations!
Way to go, Michaela!
Maybe you've managed to breed a new trick into these bunnies -- it sounds like at least one can fly!
Good looking Bunny's
Glad to hear the bunny's are well. They look pretty cute. I saw my first Hotot dwarf rabbit at a the Centre County Grange fair near State College Pennsylvania. Cute rabbit. You could not touch the rabbits which I thought was a good idea.
You got names for those bunnys?

Furrballs
Aw - They are so, so adorable!
The only breeding I do nowadays is on Petz - a computer game where you raise dogs and cats and you could breed litters as well.
