Dancing on Cloud Nine

The HAKUNA MATATAS knocked their socks off!  I'm talking about the audience and their own,  They danced the night away!  Their first big performance was incredible!  Standing ovations, record breaking numbers and not a dry eye in the house.  Wow! YOU SHOULD'VE BEEN THERE! They were the talk of the entire weekend.

The educational seminar had close to 100 people in attendance, the afternoon dance had at least 65+ people there, and over 500 at the demo that night.  Record breaking numbers.  It was Leah Leiden's birthday, so she and her boyfriend Karl Kiesewetter represented the club and carried the banner in for the Parade of Banners. Rightfully so, because they have been with us the longest.  They were the very first two members who signed up for square dancing over 2 years ago.  We are the only handicapable square dance club in PA, and after this weekend, we hope and pray that more will be springing up.

What's next?  2 groups now!  Inviting in new dancers for a BASIC hour, and our now ADVANCED group will learn harder calls the first half hour of the night. Plus, we are hoping to get to the Pennsylvania State Farm Show in early January.  Keep your fingers crossedHopefully, our square dancing friends from the PA State Convention can help us get a dancing spot there. By the way, Friday morning, before heading up to the convention, Tommy and I went on Froggy 98 to plug the demo dance, and to our surprise we got to promo the dance at all the stations.  The Oldies, Talk Radio, Hard Rock and Country, and all of the DJ'swere great. Thanks, Frogman!

Thanks again to the Pa State Convention for allowing us to perform at this year's festival.

( I'm at the beach now, so when I return, I'll get more stills and video posted )
