Turning Gramma's Basement into a Clothing Department

Our handi-capable square dance club is less than a month away from their very first demo. Everyone is excited, because tons of square dance clothes have been donated for the dancers. I’ve asked around at various dances and talked to many dance leaders who have really helped me to collect all of the western wear.

My gramma Kitty, is an amazing person. She has basically taken all of the boxes and bins and has washed, dried, pressed and sewed lots of the square wear. Our big demo dance will be Saturday August 18th around 7pm at the Penn Stater Conference Center in State College Pa.

We will distribute the clothing later this week. I will hopefully take footage of the reactions of all of the dancers. They are going to be like kids in a candy store. I know this because my girlfriend and I have been just as giddy helping my gramma put all of these costumes together.  Here is a few minutes of video I took at gramma’s house, just so you can get the idea of what Miss Kitty’s Wester Wear shop looks like.  ( FYI...I am narrating very slowly because I was trying to video and not step on any clothing.  Plus, I can't do two things at one time )

curious attire

As I am not a seasoned square dancer, I would enjoy knowing the proper attire for the ladies and gentlemen.  There seems to be so many pieces to their dance attire.  Is there different attire for different dances or different attire appropriate for different places in the United States.  Just curious.

NO surprise!

I'm lucky enough to KNOW Grandma Kitty, so this comes as no big surprise to me.  She is the epitome of what you want to be as you age....young at heart, vibrant and active.  If I'm in HALF as good as shape as she when I'm her age, I'll be doing extremely well!

I bet that will be really exciting for everyone!

Are you all still dancing at the Mansion on sunday?  Eve and I were going to walk up if so.....

Baker Mansion Demo

Thanks for the nice words about GRAMBO! Yep, we are dancing this Sunday July 29th at 2pm at Baker Mansion.  Bring your lawn chairs!
