Feels Like I'm Walking on Broken Glass

The boys and I decided it was time to head to a beach.  Just to give you a head's up, Key West beaches are not really all that nice.  The sand is made of crushed coral, and you're better off wearing sneakers than sandals.

The beach we chose this day was Fort Zachary Taylor Beach, which is supposed to be the nicest on the island.  I can't really say I agree, but we'll go with that.  This particular beach, I believe is also a nesting ground for sea turtles.  They even have a nice sign up telling you all about them.

Steve and Cory decided to hit the water.  As they splashed around like Peter Pan at a Fairy Convention, Larry tried to catch a tan, and I decided to walk up and down the beach looking for interesting shells.  Well, I didn't find any shells of interest, and Larry didn't catch much of a tan.

Steve somehow managed to lose his sunglasses in the water, and by the grace of God, they showed up on his foot a few minutes later.  Call it divine intervention.  We couldn't believe he found them again.

Being a Monday, the beach was busy, but not super busy.  There were some parasailers out on the water, and pelicans roosting all over the place.  Most of the time we spent at the beach was just time to be bums.  We decided to head out and figure out where we were going later.

...UP NEXT...Tuesday, because I can't remember Monday Night...
