WHO ORDERED THE JETS???

Monday morning brought a whole new experience to Key West that we hadn't really been expecting.  Sure, we knew Key West had a Naval Base on it.  Sure, we knew there was an airport.  What we didn't expect was that this Naval Base was in fact a Naval Pilot Training Facility as well.

Now myself, I don't mind getting up early.  As a matter of fact, in Key West, I was up early every day.  However, shortly after 7am, the overhead chaos began.

Hearing a loud sound that shook the condo, I walked out on the balcony to see where it was coming from.  It got louder and louder until finally...

WHHOOOOOOSSHHHHHH!!!!  Two or three Naval jets go flying past like the fly-by of the control tower scene in TOP GUN.  I thought it was interesting, as that's not a sight you usually see every day...

Check that last thought...not a sight you see every....AT HOME.

No, folks, this was no random fly-by.  This was one of NUMEROUS fly-bys that occured each and every day for several hours.

By 9:30 or 10am, Cory, Steve and I were awake.  Larry, however, was the least amused by these morning visitors than the rest of us.

"WHO ORDERED THE JETS???" was his daily question, followed up by "I DIDN'T ORDER THIS!"

I've since heard Larry can longer hear his alarm clock, as he only wakes up to the sound of jet engines.  And they don't have a snooze button.
