The Journey to The Parrot Auditions
A few days ago i audition for this character.
I await a opportunity to finally become a major league or professional professional mascot, only to turn it down. I believe in a God who has the world in his hand. He makes the rain fall and the placed the days to break up the night. I will not choose this opportunity because of a promise that he made to me. He said the he will give me the desires of my heart
Psalms 37:4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
I was given a vision, that there will be an opportunity for me in the south. I desire basketball more than baseball so NBA may be the ticket.
So now the story.. begins
My journey started rough I was sick. I was coughing and had a running nose. I packed my bags and headed down old 22 . I was driving with sunshine in my eyes, until I made it up the hill. The weather started getting rough but the ship I was driving was not going to stop. I then witnessed an accident with a truck and car. The big bad truck plowed in the tail end of a sedan. It happened all quiet like. Everything moved slow motion. the Car went twisted in front of the dump truck and onto the railing right in front of me. I was surprising cool under fire, so I slowed down. I looked behind me just to make sure no one was coming to hit me. As I was slowing down, I looked to see if the person in the car was O. K. He or she was cursing at the truck driver, so I figure he was alright. I looked in my rear view mirror again and another truck was coming down the hill fast. He could not slow down that fast and he was going to say hello to my little friend, so I put my foot down hard to get out of there. I was pray the driver in the car would forgive me for not stopping. After making out of that mess, kept heading to PITT . The weather began to get worse.. sunshine, wind, rain and now Snow. Wow. is the a test?
I made it to my hotel, and I thought the night would be great.. I would sit in my bed and try to get rid of my symptoms, but of course my friends wanted to go out. I had some alcohol to burn the germs. One drink. Nothing crazy.. It got rid of the cough but then my stomach was tested as I then ate some buffalo wings. The smell of the wings brought up a cough.. and silly me I did not listen. they said Stop do not eat. The night continue to get worse. My head started to have pressure. I had to get out of there.. I called a night but when I got into bed I could sleep because my back was sore and tight from all that coughing.. wow. Here comes the audition.
I did what I could do.. but I could make this event important.
A chance. and I blew it.. I left believe I was better than that. and God knew I was too. but I pray He Held me back for the basketball Job..
oh the story of the audition.. comes later. I just found out who got the job...
Bye

How do you get started
Thanks for sharing your story. I hope it turns out for the best. I am curious, how did you get involved in mascoting?
Clay hardens by immobility – men's minds by standing pat. Both lose the power to take new impressions. (Pinchot 1910: 138)
This reminds me of a song of Mr. Rogers
CJ- When I read your story, the song below, for some strange reason was going around and around in my head. This is the song that started it all with Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. Check out the lyrics. Though written for children, the words have a heavy impact in adulthood.
This song tells me, not only the basics of how different folks deal with different levels of stress, but it illustrates, to me that no matter what we do, we have the choices to make our own decisions. The Big Man upstairs may have the blueprints laid out in front of us, but it's the tests and obstacles that we have to over come that is the live and learn part, dude.
You are definitely a basketball man, ain't no doubt. Baseball is too slow moving for a track coach.
Altoona would take a hit by letting you and your family slip away, but you have to press on and do what you want to do, and have fun with what you're doing. Do what you do, do well, boy...do what you do, do well...(that's from another song)
Just do your best and God will supply the rest.

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THE MAD THAT YOU FEEL
MUSIC AND LYRICS BY FRED M. ROGERS
What do you do with the mad that you feel
When you feel so mad you could bite?
When the whole wide world seems oh, so wrong
And nothing you do seems very right?
What do you do?
Do you punch a bag?
Do you pound some clay or some dough?
Do you round up friends for a game of tag?
Or see how fast you go?
It's great to be able to stop
When you've planned a thing that's wrong,
And be able to do something else instead
And think this song!
I can stop when I want to
Can stop when I wish.
I can stop, stop, stop any time.
And what a good feeling to feel like this
And know that the feeling is really mine.
Know that there's something deep inside
That helps us become what we can.
For a girl can be someday a woman.
And a boy can be someday a man.
Oh, it's great to be able to stop!
When you've planned a thing that's wrong,
And be able to do something else instead
And think this song!
I can stop when I want to
Can stop when I wish.
I can stop, stop, stop any time.
And what a good feeling to feel like this
And know that the feeling is really mine.
Know that there's something deep inside
That helps us become what we can.
For a girl can be someday a woman
And a boy can be someday a man
I know that there's something deep inside
That helps us become what we can...
That’s what you do!
