The One Percenter

I have been reading a book called “Citizen Marketers” by Ben McConnell and Jackie Huba. It is a book about how normal citizens just like you are using the power of social media to exercise enormous influence on culture and what we buy. This book is analyzing people who use social media.

One of the sections talks about the few people, the one percent who contribute content to the site. They called them the, one percenters. The theory is that one percent of the total people who visit a place like StoryTrax.com actually contribute content to the site. That was not all, they go to describe the one percent as typically well educated, highly involved, and on the leading edges of technology. You are not average. You are on the fringes of culture. You contribute stories because you want to build the community and plant the seeds of interaction . You are an extraordinary group of people.
So, to our one percenters, thank you. You are exceptional Storysmiths.
