Where There Is Faith
I was listening to a song on the way into work this morning. It was called “Where There is Faith” by 4HIM, a Christian music group. It is a great song. The song was speaking to me. It has been one of those years, a life changing year. It started when the company I worked for, Westsylvania Heritage Corporation changed the way they were doing business. I saw many of my good friends lose jobs as the company shifted its focus.
It was during that time of uncertainty that I needed to make a decision. I still had a job but I was presented the opportunity to create a new business that was to carry forth what we started at Westsylvania Heritage Corporation. That business is what you see today as Storytrax.com. I spent a lot of time in quiet reflection before my Lord. I prayed diligently for guidance and faith. God gave me the answers and the strengh my family, my closest friends and myself needed to start StoryTrax.
Then I was faced with more news that my wife and I were expecting our first child. I had little insurance and little income. To bring a child into this circumstance seemed irresponsible. Then I was reminded to have faith, and reminded of Matthew 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well”. Today I have a beautiful son. Both of these changes have drawn me into a closer relationship with my Lord Jesus Christ. I don’t know what I would have done without my faith. I don’t always do what is right, but I know I am forgiven and that I can start over. As I head into the Easter season, I pray you have the same peace and comfort in the face of change.
In closing I leave you with my favorite verses of the song “Where There is Faith”;
Where there is faith
There is a calling, keep walking
You're not alone in this world
Where there is faith
There is a peace like a child sleeping
Hope everlasting in He who is able to
Bear every Burden, to heal every hurt in my heart
It is a wonderful, powerful place
Where there is faith
There is a calling, keep walking
You're not alone in this world
Where there is faith
There is a peace like a child sleeping
Hope everlasting in He who is able to
Bear every Burden, to heal every hurt in my heart
It is a wonderful, powerful place
Where there is faith

what a wonderful story
thanks for sharing that, those were sincere and intimate thoughts to share at large.
Amazing how bringing a baby into the world makes perspective so much clearer. And also amazing how your faith brings you thru it. Reminds me of that cliche : "if God brings you to it, he'll bring you through it"
Your story also reminded me of when i was pregnant with Eve. Al worked for a company who allegedly prided themselves on family values, then downsized him when I was 7months pregnant! I was devastated....but I too spent a good day or two on my knees (not that i could see them anyway, haha, lil PG joke there) and realized it woudl turn out for the best. In the end, Al went back to work for a fabulous company (YBC!) when Eve was 2months old...almost like 'paternity leave' and it was a godsend. We look back on that year with such joy and i barely remember the job loss deal!! You will have the same experience.
Your son could not be a sweeter looking angel, enjoy every day, it seems like it'll never end but it FLIES by!
Thanks
Nice
Thanks for sharing, Erin. Sounds like a watershed year - glad you hung in there and made some decisions. We never know if our decisions are "right," but we have to keep moving forward. Anne H.
Appreciated
Thanks for your comments.
Clay hardens by immobility – men's minds by standing pat. Both lose the power to take new impressions. (Pinchot 1910: 138)
