Here's to Good Health!

I've been MIA for a few weeks, and am happy to be back!  One day I woke up to screaming pain in my shoulder and arm, and it just wouldn't stop!  Eternally afraid of being a hypochondriac, I waited two weeks before consulting my chiropractor.  He made some progress, but admitted there was more going on than what he could help me with.  Another week went by until I darkened the MD's door.  I was issued pain meds and anti-inflammatories, plus a referral to physical therapy.

Physical therapy is a wonderful, but mixed, blessing.  They can surely isolate your problem and help to fix you.  BUT . . . it is always humiliating to be unable to make some baby moves because they are either physically impossible or embarrassingly difficult.  I've learned this in the past, after two separate knee repairs.

I'm happy to report that I am now down to two PT sessions a week rather than three, and my pain has largely diminished.  X-rays revealed the usual indignities suffered by an aging body, nothing spectacular.

This is the kind of event that makes you cherish what you have - your health, your sanity, access to good medical professionals, perhaps insurance to cover some of the costs.  I'm sure it's not the last challenge my body will issue!  So I'll just hang on for the ride . . .

Glad to hear you're on the mend.
