Finally, a much deserved respite from winter
Finally, after 20 years of marriage and raising three kids, it's our turn. Last fall I announced to my husband that we were taking a trip to Florida. He took the news suprisingly well. The last time we went on vacation was our honeymoon. Even then we had no intentions of taking a trip.... we decided to go somewhere the day after our wedding..... I figure it's time. We have wonderful friends who live down there. They spend their summers up here and then head south for the winter. They always travel with an entonrage, two dogs, a horse and a goat. At last, we decided to take them up on their countless offers for us to come for a visit.
We plan to make a loop, stopping in Kentucky to visit friends, then on to Nashville, maybe to Atlanta, then down the gulf coast and up the oceanside of Florida. We plan to take our time, no real itinerary. After all, there is no hunting season this time of year for us to hurry back for and fishing season is many weeks away. We talked about maybe stopping by Mammoth Cave, but after seeing the move 'The Descent' were not so sure. Hopefully, it will be a memorable trip. Which reminds me..... I'd better update my AAA membership.

And baseball, too!
You'll be in Florida just in time for Spring Training! I know THAT will be a high priority. :-)
Sounds like a great trip. Have a good time, and travel safely.
sounds gr8!
Every year this time I get itchy to get outta dodge! But to get away from the cold as well---sounds like heaven!
Enjoy and can't wait to hear about and SEE the trip!
Have a great Trip
Enjoy the trip south. You certainly picked a great time of the year for an excursion to warmer climates.
I love a good road trip. There is nothing like driving through country you have not seen in a long time and it certainly makes you appreciate what you have at home. One of my favorite road trips to Florida included my best friend. He joined our family for a trip to see my great grandparents. As is always the case with long trips and a crowd van, tensions ran high on occasion. So out came, what we affectionately called the Good Humor Hat. Placing this ridiculously funny hat on someone's head improved the contentious situation.
I used to live in Florida, had family in Florida, and vacationed in Florida. Not sure where you will be in Florida. We always spent our time on the Gulf side, near Venice in a little town called Englewood. Great place, it was even better before the small beach cabin was replaced by Condos. Such is life. While you are in Florida, you must try the Key Lime Pie. Key Lime Pie tastes better in Florida because the Key Limes are fresh. It is nothing like you get here in PA.
Enjoy the trip, take lots of pics and we look forward to hearing about it hear on Storytrax.
