Welcome To Storytrax-Weekly Notes From Erin

Moving SnowWinter has settled into Central Pennsylvania. This winter is not as bad as past winters and for those of us who don’t mind the snow, we are getting enough of it to make it enjoyable but not a nuisance. It has been colder, MUCH Colder and therefore I am spending more time indoors. We here at America’s Stories have been enjoying a lot of your stories and we have had some new people join us since the last posting.

Have you had a chance to meet Thom Geishauser aka Golden Goose, Thom is now on the site and has made his first blog called Two Rosey Cheeks. GarlicDragon is on the site and has updated her profile, StephanieADennis is an old High School friend and is now longed onto Storytrax, redrosetea has a great story for why she chose her username,Paradise Joe loves to fish in Erie, and Stady52 is another outdoorsmen who loves to fish. The StoryTrax community extends our welcome to you all and we look forward to reading more of your stories.

If you have noticed that two of our newest friends to the community are fishing fanatics then you should know that Jack has been extremely busy getting the fishing community namely those who fish for Steelhead in Lake Erie, involved in the site. Jack has been making posts on his most recent trip to the land of ice, snow, and Steelhead. These video diaries of his trips are attracting a lot of viewer to the site.

There have been other avid storytellers this past week. If you have the chance check out Cory’s Stories, he would love to hear ideas for cartoons, the Tyrone Historical Society, PaulaZ, and AsktheRanger, these folks have been sharing a lot of great stories. If you have a moment pick one and let them know your thoughts. If you find a story particularly interesting then share it with your friends by forwarding them a link to StoryTrax.com there is a lot of new things happening.

New site designSpeaking of new things, we here at the corporate headquaters for Storytrax.com, J a small office in a former department store in downtown Altoona, have been busy bringing some new updates to the site. Ben shared with us his first draft for the design and it is a step in the right direction. Ben is of course the President of MazurMedia and will be taking some suggestions we have made to the site and tweak the design. I included it here so we can get your opinions. We are trying to make the site a little more functional and user friendly.

One of the biggest changes to the site will be a new logo. We heard from a lot of you that the logo is bad. So we have employed Cory, that is right our own Cory’s Stories, to redesign the logo. His new design will be easier to read, and more adventorous in nature. More to come.

We also continue to make some slight changes to the website itself. We have taken away the community forum,  and the My Stories tab because they were too confusing and there was not a lot of interest in those areas of the site. We are making some improvements to the site such as the ability for people with out accounts to comment easier, make it easier for people to subscribe to your stories, we made the editing tools in your blogs easier to use and so much more. These changes will continue for the next month and we will have updates for you as we move ahead.

We hope you are enjoying the site and we look forward to hearing from you. Remember to share your stories daily and remember to take some time and comment on someone’s story. They love to hear your comments.

Thanks
Erin (ecooley)
