Weekly Hello From America's Stories
Last weeks journal entry is a little late. There have been a lot things happening, so let us begin.
Paula and I met with Ben Mazur of Mazur Media. Ben is working with our friends at the NIS Group, a technology firm out of State College. Ben will redesign the website. We are taking a look at making it easier: to register at atorytrax; to blog; to insert media files such as pictures, movies, and sounds; to search the site for stories; to comment; to map stories, blogs, forum topics, etc.; and so much more. Ben will also help give the site a polished functional look which should help attract more users. Ben has joined the site. He has made a microsite, he is blogging, and I am sure he would love to hear from you.
We have been very fortunate to see some new users to the site. We welcome Benjamin Mazur, chelle.dip, isidoro, and MikeT156. We are fortunate to have them a part of the site and we look forward to seeing them in the blogs, forums, and story section of the site. So please extend a welcome to our new friends.
There were some great blogs last week. Corben has been blogging about Mr. Rogers and his Wheelchair Square dancing, mikesscuba blogged about his experiences on a dive trip to Mount Storm, Jack blogged about the Cemetary in Entriken and fishing; one of my personal favorites is AnneH’s blogs and comments; Paula has been quite busy talking about headless yardeer and digging up bones. There are a few new blogs this week but more on those next week.
Paula has been busy submitting stories. She has found interesting stories about counties all across America and adds them to the site daily. She even found some articles on Tyrone while working on a contract to help the Tyrone Historical Society catalog and organize their Archive. Some of those stories are on the site. Since I am a Tyrone boy myself I enjoyed reading the story on St. Matthew’s School.
Well I suppose I should head back to work. This week we are meeting with Ben. Paula has a busy couple of days presenting to the Tyrone Rotary and the folks at the Tyrone Historical Society. Paula is also meeting with the NIS Group, our technology developer, to talk about the site. I am working on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) stuff for the site. SEO helps us get noticed in the search engines. If you happen to know of any websites we can link our site to, then leave a comment in this blog.
I hope to see you on the site. I am looking forward to reading your stories.
Keep the faith!
