Bloomsburg, PAColumbia County, PA was formed on March 22, 1813 out of Northumberland County. Its name recognizes the explorations of Christopher Columbus. The county seat, Bloomsburg, became this State's only incorporated town in 1870. A Quaker (Society of Friends) meetinghouse was built at Catawissa as early as 1789.
