again the Diner is cool. Why? Could be the resurgence of the Baby Boomer crowd to recapture a bit of the good life, to remember what times were like in the 50s. The classic Diner has always been a place where the community gathers.

The classic Diner has always been a place where the community gathers.There are a lot of good Diners around Altoona but it’s not just the pie in the glass cabinet that makes them great it’s the people. It is the feeling that as soon as you walk through the door you are one of the locals and not just another customer. “Tom and Joes” is a lot like that in Altoona. Food is typical Diner food, no high fiber low fat menu here. Just plain good food served by good people.
