Erie Stream Photos January 15-22

This is the final photo for this trip. I tried to fish today Tuesday January 22 and failed to catch a single fish.

The first two photos show the Elk Creek Access. You can see that it is ice locked and will remain that way until a warm spell opens a channel through that mess. To catch fish this week, you must find open water and deep runs and holes that are holding the fish. It takes some walking and exploring. Once you locate a good spot, try jig/maggots and egg sacs. I had most success with pink egg sacs. The fish on the ice was caught with a black jig. The video below shows that these winter Steelhead are full of fight.
Please be careful when fishing edge ice pictured in the last two photos. It is really easy to trip and take a "Polar Bear" dunk or twist an ankle or knee. I came close to doing all. Good luck!
