Yesterday, January 1, 2008, I turned on the television to locate a football game, when what to my wondering eyes should appear? A hockey game but not just any hockey game. A professional hockey game featuring my Pittsburgh Penguins playing the Buffalo Sabres in a snowstorm, The Ice Bowl as some have penned the event was an epic match up in the middle of a football stadium. It was OUTSIDE! It was great.

 

As I continued to watch the Penguins beat the Sabres I thought about those classic outdoor winter activities. I found my self reminiscing about those days we would go sled ridding, or skate on the pond, build snowmen and snow forts and have snowball battles.
