I Love Altoona
Altoona, PA, 16601For those who live in Altoona Pennsylvania you may have noticed the “I Love Altoona” signs. They are part of a marketing effort but together by Matt and Christina Garber for their website called www.ilovealtoona.com. The website is a place for people to learn about events and activities in the Greater Altoona Area. It is also a place to voice your ideas on how to make this a better place to live and visit.
The site was first created as a campaign site for Matt’s City Council run. After the election there was some discussion about the new purpose for the site. Christina being a mom and a transplant from New Jersey decided there were a lot of great things in Altoona. She believes the events are just as good as the events in Philadelphia or other major metropolitan areas, except that in Altoona these events and activities are more accessible to people. So they decided people needed to easier access to event information.
The site also hosts a new feature called Altoogle. Altoogle is a directory of businesses in the Altoona area. Not only is this a directory but also a place where you can leave comments about the business. So if you are looking for a florist in Altoona, or in need of a good mechanic you can check out Altoogle at www.Ilovealtoona.com and see what other people had to say about the business.
Take a look at this video and visit our friends at www.Ilovealtoona.com.

what's going on?
their what's going on? page is a real resource!! I always check it before we attend something or plan something. Also, I reviewed my fave mechanic on Altoogle yesterday, and the review is on the homepage today!!
Even though Garber voted improperly on the Walgreens (and he and I had a heated discussion about it!) the site is great...a friend of mine won a gift card to the Phoenix restaurant!!
I noticed last week they were using some Storytrax footage....great partnership for you I'msure!!
