GREAT CHRISTMAS GIFT TO YOUR CHILD, GRANDCHILD, NIECE, NEPHEW or GODCHILD!
HI there! 2008 will mark 18 years of me teaching art to kids. A lot of these kids that I have taught have grown up, and now I'm teaching THEIR kids. That's crazy! LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE FOR THESE SPECIAL ART LESSONS! These ART FUNSHOPS will be held in my art studio, near Baker Elementary School in Altoona, PA.
In these sessions, I will be teaching cartooning of the human and animal heads and bodies, with emphasis on expressions and emotions, and bodies in motion!!! We will also be writing funny comic strip panels, and also learning the Distorted Art of Caricature. Creating your very own unique cartoon character, while developing and writing humorous scenarios for it.
**Please Check out my HUB, here at Storytrax. My seasonal cartoon panel LAPTOPS will be on display at the HOLLIDAYSBURG LIBRARY from Thanksgiving to New Year's and then circulating to the Altoona Library for the month of January. The Laptops will be available in CHRISTMAS CARD FORM around Veteran's Day. Drop me an email for details. Sign up soon and save a few more dollars on art lessons. The Eye of the Beholder
I came across this story about a budding cartoonist in Brooklyn today. It seems that 6-year-old Natalie Shae of Brooklyn took advantage of last week's pleasant fall weather to decorate the sidewalk with a blue flower. Her medium of choice was chalk. Well, apparently one of the neighbors took issue with the first-grader's flower, and called the local complaint line for graffiti. The cops arrived and threatened to fine ($300!) Natalie's mom because of the "graffiti." A heavy rain erased the apparently offensive flower, and Natalie got off with just a warning. (Read the story here.)
So, watch where you put your doodles -- what you think of as art may be interpreted by somebody else as vandalism!
Loitering
I suppose kids playing baseball in the park or on the street will be cited for loitering. Such a shame. So if the neighbor put a potted flower or plant on the stoop could Natalie call and say the neighbor is putting garbage on her stoop and should be cited? If the stoop is private property then how can it be cited as graffitti?
